Well, if we will point your mistakes it's good for you(as long as we don't do it for single, little ones, I think it's pointless), you can always learn something

I think we should talk about different subjects in this theard, not only subjects attributable to english language.
I propose to start any interesting subject, for instance ...I don't know... politics? gender? any shitstorm? - that kind of discussion will last long and it may be iluminating (oh my God he used "illuminating" this cannot be a coincidence!)

I wish I've met one day a person responsible for this weird transcription of English words and punched his face.

A person responsible for this weird transcription of English words is a polish-english dictionary. He hasn't face, only cover.
But you have a chance to learn new words, it's graet!

You really need to fix your English, buddy.

Well, the dictionary didn't invent these weird symbols all by itself.

Actually, the French (and British) invented the phonetic alphabet. When you study English at university you've got to write entire texts in that so it's good to know it if you're a student of English. Otherwise, it's a waste of time, imho.
BTW, this topic is pointless since everyone can learn how to read and write in English easily, but when it comes to talking everyone suddenly forgets how to say even the simplest sentence. If you set up a team speak club or something I'm willing to come once a week in the evening to have a chat. I speak English as a second language.

Well, I just started studying both English and Russian, so I'm obliged to learn this, although our PNJA BrPh lecturer basically gave us a bunch of words to transcript without any word of explanation (only a few of us had any lessons connected strictly with transcription in highschool).

I had phonetics classes at university. At first it's simple memorisation and rote learning. You need a dictionary to get you started. If your pronunciation is good you won't have any problems, it's really easy. You just need to learn all the symbols and associate them with certain sounds. Now that I live in the UK, I can see though that phonetic transcription is redundant. Noone here uses received pronunciation, unless you're a BBC presenter of course. It's good to know how to read it though if you're still not fluent at English.
